1. Ownership of Copyright
All content produced, commissioned, or published by Futures Publishing is protected by copyright. This includes, but is not limited to:
- All books, journals, and academic publications issued under any Futures Publishing imprint
- Text, descriptions, editorial copy, and metadata appearing on futurespublishing.com
- Book cover designs, illustrations, typographic treatments, and visual identity elements
- Author biographies, photographs, and editorial portraits supplied to or produced by Futures Publishing
- Journal articles, research papers, reviews, and essays published in Futures Publishing periodicals
- Marketing and promotional materials, including press releases, catalogues, and newsletters
- Audio and video content produced or commissioned by Futures Publishing, including author interviews and trailers
- All logos, trademarks, imprint names, and brand assets associated with Futures Publishing
The copyright in published works belongs to the respective authors, with an exclusive publishing licence granted to Futures Publishing as set out in each author’s contract. Futures Publishing owns copyright in all editorial, design, and marketing material it creates independently.

2. Applicable Copyright Law
Futures Publishing operates under and asserts rights pursuant to the following legislation and international frameworks:

Works published by Futures Publishing are automatically protected under the Berne Convention in all 181 signatory countries without the need for registration. Copyright protection commences from the moment a work is created and, for literary works, lasts for the lifetime of the author plus 60 years in India (plus 70 years in most EU and UK jurisdictions).
3. What Is Protected
Published Works
Every book, journal issue, article, and essay published under a Futures Publishing imprint is protected in full. This protection covers:
- The complete text of the work in its published form
- Any subsequent revised, updated, or expanded editions
- Translated editions produced under licence
- Excerpts, summaries, and abridgements created by or for Futures Publishing
- Digital editions including e-books, enhanced e-books, and audiobooks
Website & Digital Content
The entirety of the Futures Publishing website (futurespublishing.com) — including its structure, layout, written content, images, metadata, and code — is protected by copyright. The following acts are prohibited without written permission:
- Copying or reproducing web page text, in whole or in part
- Downloading, mirroring, or scraping the website or any portion of it
- Framing or embedding our web pages within another site
- Using our content to train, fine-tune, or prompt artificial intelligence models
- Republishing our blog posts, news items, or editorial content on third-party platforms
Visual & Brand Assets
All book covers, interior illustrations, maps, diagrams, typographic treatments, logos, and imprint marks are protected. They may not be modified, re-coloured, cropped, or incorporated into third-party materials without prior written consent from Futures Publishing.

4. Permitted Uses
Fair Dealing
Under the Copyright Act 1957 (India) and equivalent international legislation, limited use of copyright material is permitted without authorisation for the following purposes, provided the source is clearly acknowledged:
- Research or private study — short extracts for personal, non-commercial use
- Criticism or review — quotation in the context of a genuine critical assessment of the work
- Reporting of current events — brief extracts relevant to a news story
- Education — limited reproduction in a classroom or lecture context, not for distribution
Fair dealing is a narrow exception. It does not permit reproducing entire chapters, substantial portions of a text, or content in a manner that could substitute for purchasing the original. When in doubt, request permission.
Press & Media
Journalists, bloggers, and media organisations may:
- Quote up to 300 words from any Futures Publishing title in a review or news report, with full attribution
- Reproduce one book cover image per article for the purpose of review or editorial coverage
- Cite factual information (publication dates, ISBNs, author names, prices) freely
Authors
Authors published by Futures Publishing may use excerpts of their own work for personal promotion, readings, and educational purposes as set out in the Author Resources guide. Authors should refer to their individual publishing contract and the Rights & Permissions page for full details.
Educational Institutions
Schools, colleges, and universities may reproduce limited extracts for non-commercial educational use in classroom settings. For course packs, digital repositories, or any wider distribution, a formal permissions request must be submitted to rights@futurespublishing.com.
5. Prohibited Uses
The following acts are expressly prohibited and may result in legal action:

| Futures Publishing actively monitors for copyright infringement online, including unauthorised file sharing, scraping, and unlicensed reproduction. We will issue DMCA takedown notices and pursue legal remedies where appropriate. |
6. Requesting Permission
If you wish to use content from any Futures Publishing publication or website beyond the permitted uses described above, you must obtain prior written permission. Permissions are issued by our Rights Manager.
How to Apply
- Email rights@futurespublishing.com with the subject line: PERMISSIONS REQUEST
- Include the title, author, and ISBN of the work (or URL if website content)
- Describe exactly what you wish to reproduce (page numbers, word count, or URL)
- State the purpose, format, audience, territory, and proposed publication date
- Allow at least 10 working days for a response
Fees
Some permissions are granted free of charge (for example, non-commercial educational use). Others require a licensing fee, which is determined by the nature, extent, and commercial purpose of the use. We will always confirm any applicable fee before issuing a written permission.

7. Third-Party Content
Some content on the Futures Publishing website and in our publications is owned by third parties — including photographs, quoted material, maps, and licensed illustrations. Such content is used with permission and remains the property of its respective owners.
Futures Publishing does not grant permission for third-party content. If you wish to reproduce material that originates from a third party, you must seek authorisation directly from the rights holder. Futures Publishing accepts no liability for any infringement arising from the unauthorised use of third-party content.
8. Reporting Copyright Infringement
If you believe that your copyright-protected work has been reproduced on the Futures Publishing website or in any of our publications without authorisation, please contact us immediately so we can investigate and take prompt action.
How to Submit an Infringement Notice
- Email legal@futurespublishing.com with the subject line: COPYRIGHT INFRINGEMENT NOTICE
- Provide your full name, organisation, and contact details
- Identify the copyrighted work you believe has been infringed
- Provide the URL or publication details where the alleged infringement appears
- Include a statement that you are the rights holder or authorised to act on their behalf
- Sign the notice (electronic signature accepted)
We will acknowledge all infringement notices within 5 working days and investigate as a matter of priority. Where infringement is confirmed, we will take immediate steps to remove or correct the content.
